In my opinion it's one of the basic traffic control mechanisms and it's missing from a DLC that was supposed to tackle major traffic issues. I do not have a picture right now, but I hope that it is understandable. That way there should be much fewer points where the routes of vehicles cross and force some of them to stop. You can use two opposing one-way roads instead of a larger one, then only connect junctions to one side and provide roundabouts for turning in certain places. The AI is a bit wonky using only one lane all the time. Basically everyone is telling you, cant be done without mods. Intersections are the secret to getting heavy thick traffic though an intersection. The screenshot I show only a few combinations. Different pieces on the other side produces different lane assignments.Īctually all the piece types all the way around the intersection are taken into consideration when lane assignments are made by the game.
